On June 15, 2020, a press conference was held by Oleksiy Chernyshov, Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine “100 Days of the Government – Report of the Ministry of Regional Development”

Given the worsening epidemiological situation in the country, the press conference was held online.

The Minister reported on the main challenges and achievements of the Ministry of Regional Development during this period and outlined new tasks and priorities. According to the Minister, “despite the COVID-19 epidemic, the Ministry of Regional Development team has brought to a logical conclusion the complex process of coordinating the long-term plans of all 24 regions of Ukraine, which will become the basis of the new administrative-territorial structure; continues to work on other reforms that were planned before the start of quarantine; the implementation of the President’s program “Great Construction” continues.

Oleksiy Chernyshov paid special attention to the topic of decentralization in Ukraine, emphasized the issues of changing tariffs in the housing and communal services system and focused on the reform of the State Housing and Urban Infrastructure Agency.

“We have focused on the development of the regions, in particular, a number of projects and reforms in the areas of urban development and energy efficiency are currently being implemented. Work is ongoing on the smooth functioning of the housing and communal services,” the Minister emphasized.

As the Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine noted at the end of the press conference, “not a single area of ​​activity of the Ministry of Regional Development, not a single initiated project has stopped during the pandemic!”
