The business confidence indicator in the construction market in the third quarter of 2020 improved by 11 percentage points compared to the second quarter of 2020 – to “minus” 37.2%
According to the data from a survey of construction companies conducted by the State Statistics Service, the assessment of the current lack of orders has improved by 4 points – to “minus” 57%.
According to the survey results, 58% of companies assessed their current order volume as insufficient, 41% as normal for the season, and 1% above the norm.
25% of respondents expect an increase in prices for their services in the third quarter of this year, which is 2 points less than in the second quarter. 9% of surveyed companies predict a decrease in the cost of construction work, 66% do not expect any changes in pricing policy.
26% of surveyed companies expect a reduction in the number of employees in July-September 2020, while 15% predict its increase.
As reported with reference to the State Statistics Service, the volume of construction work performed in Ukraine (excluding occupied Crimea and temporarily uncontrolled territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions) in 2019 increased by 20% compared to 2018, while the increase in the indicator in 2018 to 2017 according to newly revised data was 8.5%.
At the same time, according to the State Statistics Service, prices for construction and installation work in 2019 increased by 6% compared to 2018.
