At the plenary session of the Kyiv City Council, held on December 12, deputies approved a land management project to change the borders of the city of Kyiv
According to the decision, the territory of the city of Kyiv can increase by 2771.1415 hectares at the expense of the region’s lands. At the same time, the city must transfer 55.4 hectares from the lands of the Kyiv City Council to the lands of the Kyiv region.
According to the Department of Land Resources, the borders of the city of Kyiv have not changed since 1989. Moreover, over the past 28 years, there have been no documents on the configuration of the city’s borders. This made it impossible to develop a project to change them.
However, in September 2019, official data on the establishment and fixing of the city’s borders with boundary signs was found. The work was carried out by the Ukrainian State Institute of Engineering and Geodetic Surveys and Surveys “UkrDIIGis” in 1989-1990.
Taking into account this data, a project was developed to change the borders of the city of Kyiv, which plans to increase the city’s territory from 82,635 hectares to 85,351 hectares.
