In 2022, DSTU 8747 will come into force. According to it, the Highway Services will abandon current average repairs in favor of capital repairs.
Thus, only 2 types of repairs are established: major repairs and current repairs. Although those objects on which work has already begun will be completed as part of the current average repairs.
This decision was preceded by inspections of several recently repaired roads of state importance, conducted by the public organization CoST Ukraine.
These inspections revealed a lot of damage on objects that were recently put into operation or where repairs are still ongoing.
It turned out that the vast majority of objects where defects were found were renovated according to old projects of current average repairs, which did not provide for either strengthening the road base or increasing the bearing capacity of the road as a whole.
