On May 27, the All-Ukrainian Union of Building Materials Manufacturers and the National Expert Construction Alliance of Ukraine held an online conference “Building Materials Market in Quarantine Conditions
Joint measures to update the regulatory framework”
The Alliance’s Executive Director, Oleksandr Petushkov, presented to the conference participants the first practical mechanisms for converting expert opinions into a digital format. Already in June, the Alliance will provide expert organizations with two mechanisms: applying a digital signature and expert seal to expert reports and a system for protecting expert opinions using unique DataMatrix codes using Blockchain technology.
During the conference, they summed up and outlined trends in the building materials market:
a significant drop of 5.5% in the 1st quarter of 2020, against the background of quarantine restrictions, a 25% drop is predicted. Housing sales during this period fell by 70-80%.
They also considered draft laws and DSTU EN that regulate the construction market, features in the organization of production.
They separately discussed the risks of the draft law “On the provision of construction products on the market”, discussed the results of the work of the working group of the VRU Committee on the development of this draft law, and discussed the impact of Regulation 305/11 on the dry building mixes market.
The Union held a similar event in an online format for the first time, more than 80 specialists from all over Ukraine joined the event.
