Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Chernyshov, in his interview with the publication “Dzerkalo Tyzhnia”, spoke about the preparation of key draft laws for the implementation of urban planning reform
We are primarily talking about the key bill No. 5655 “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding Reforming the Sphere of Urban Planning Activities”, which, according to the minister, has already been supported by about 150 people’s deputies. The document is currently being prepared for a vote in the Rada.
The draft law provides for the liberalization of the permitting process and construction registration, as well as the complete digitalization of the developer’s interaction with the permitting processes.
The minister also emphasized the strengthening of responsibility for the preparation of project documentation and its examination.
“The powers of local governments will be expanded in terms of control over the construction process. Plus, administrative and criminal liability has been introduced – including for individuals – for violations in this area. A draft law on this is also being prepared,” Chernyshov emphasized.
