Today, the heads of district state administrations are proposing to prepare premises for the treatment of potential patients, but not all buildings meet safety standards.
“Representatives of the construction expertise are ready to lend a shoulder to the authorities in a situation where rapid preparation of premises for observation or provision of medical care to COVID-19 patients is required,” said Viktor Leshchynsky, president of the National Expert Construction Alliance of Ukraine and head of the independent expertise PROEKSP.
The head of the expert union reminds that in recent years a lot has changed in the DBN (state building codes), this is precisely related to the safety of operation.
At the same time, there are currently very few premises that would meet all the parameters. Added to this is the problem of the lack of a sanitary and epidemiological service system.
“What can the expert community do? First of all, provide experts on ecology and sanitary standards. They are specialists of the highest level. They have high qualifications, both in construction and medical specialties,” says Viktor Leshchynsky. They are the ones who can now advise on preparing buildings for observation and providing assistance to people with COVID-19.
In addition, today an investment project jointly with the PRC to build a powerful medical center may be relevant. Chinese partners have long been making proposals for joint work in the Ukrainian construction market. Now they have experience and knowledge that are critically important for Ukraine.
“The expert community is ready to cooperate with the authorities to help Ukrainians,” said Viktor Leshchynsky.
