The National Expert Construction Alliance of Ukraine held a seminar on construction and reconstruction safety in Odessa on December 10.

Highly professional experts told architects, designers, estimators, and builders about the new State Building Code, requirements for documentation, and most importantly, about safety standards for buildings and structures.

The Alliance, together with the independent expertise of PROEKSP, is holding its second scientific and educational seminar in Odessa (and the sixteenth in Ukraine as a whole). The seminar is taking place in the aftermath of the tragic fire that killed people.

“In the Odessa region, there is a large percentage of houses that have outlived their useful life. There is a seismic zone here, and all this makes the process of construction and reconstruction more complicated,” said Viktor Leshchynsky, president of the National Expert Construction Alliance of Ukraine.

Immediate inspection of all buildings and social facilities is the number one issue today. This was stated by Denis Vanash, deputy governor of the Odessa region. “Now many facilities are being transferred to the balance of the united territorial communities. We must conduct a detailed technical inspection and prepare documentation to understand where and what needs to be fixed. Which buildings have already served their time, and which can be made safe.” Denis Vanash recalled that 80% of the general plans in the ATC are outdated and do not meet modern requirements. That is why the knowledge that construction specialists receive at the educational seminars of the National Construction Alliance of Ukraine is especially relevant.

Nadiya Belenko, chief architect of the Odessa region, reminded: “Now a lot of outpatient clinics are being built in the region, as well as facilities intended for children. Their safety must be impeccable.”

“The National Expert Construction Alliance of Ukraine is ready to participate in the development of the most complex projects in the Odessa region,” said Viktor Leshchynsky, President of the Alliance.

He provided the contacts of the Odessa representative office of the alliance and its expert organizations:
