On May 27, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution “Some Issues of the Functioning of Architectural and Construction Control and Supervision Bodies”, which allows the State Urban Planning Inspectorate of Ukraine (SUI) to begin performing its functions and powers
The draft resolution was developed by the Ministry of Regional Development in accordance with the laws of Ukraine “On the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine”, “On central executive bodies” and the Procedure for implementing measures related to the formation, reorganization or liquidation of ministries and other central executive bodies, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated October 20, 2011 No. 1074.
According to the adopted resolution, a legislative basis has been created for the formation of interregional territorial bodies of the State Urban Planning Inspectorate of Ukraine as legal entities of public law.
The State Urban Planning Service of Ukraine has also been given the authority to hold competitions for the best buildings and structures built and put into operation on the territory of Ukraine.
The draft resolution was developed in continuation of the reform of the system of state architectural and construction control and supervision, which began in March 2020 and contributes to the restoration of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated May 23, 2011 No. 553 “On Approval of the Procedure for State Architectural and Construction Control”, which was suspended until the beginning of the performance of the functions and powers of the State Urban Planning Inspectorate.
“The adopted resolution will facilitate the further implementation of measures related to the liquidation of the State Architectural and Construction Inspectorate and the creation of the State Urban Planning Inspectorate of Ukraine. “The DIM will start operating from the moment the staff is filled by at least 30%,” noted the Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov.
