The National Museum of Architecture and Construction will open in Kyiv in the coming months
It will be managed by the Viktor Leshchynskyi Foundation with the support of the National Expert Construction Alliance of Ukraine and the Win Experts group of companies. They have already found a room for this and started collecting exhibits. They also announced a competition to develop a logo for the museum.
Viktor Leshchynsky, President of the National Expert Construction Alliance of Ukraine, says that he came up with the idea of creating a museum several years ago. However, only now has the opportunity arisen to bring this idea to life.
“I believe that the construction industry is one of the most important in our society, and the professions of builder, architect, designer, and expert are those that need to be paid more attention to and popularized among young people. So, thanks to the future museum, we will do this,” he says.
The Leshchynsky Foundation, with the support of the National Expert Construction Alliance of Ukraine and the Win Experts group of companies, has developed a clear action plan so that their museum can appear as soon as possible and immediately be replenished with numerous exhibits. A unique exhibit will be part of the office of an architect who worked in Ukraine in the mid-19th century.
“To begin with, we found a wonderful space for the museum, which is located at: Kyiv, Sichovykh Striltsiv Street, 77. That is where the temporary shelter for our cultural center will be. Since in the future we will find a place where we can design and build an exclusive space according to international standards specifically for the National Museum of Architecture and Construction. We will also provide for the use of modern interactive technologies in it,” emphasizes Viktor Leshchynsky.
The President of NEBAU will soon present the museum with his unique collection of construction tools that were used in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They even have the stamps of the workshops of that time. He will also present other rarities.
“One of the first exhibits of our museum will be a printed map of the perspective plan of Kyiv from 1911. I purchased it five years ago from the Kyiv Antique Club. I think that visitors will be interested in looking at this document and analyzing it. I will tell about all the exhibits that will be added to our museum on my own official Facebook page,” he adds.
By the way, Viktor Leshchynsky announced a competition on Facebook to design a logo for the museum. It should be in the context of the development of the construction profession and the development of Ukrainian statehood. The winner of the best logo will receive a prize of 10 thousand hryvnias. The works will be evaluated by a professional jury, and the summing up is scheduled for March 1.
