“Self-regulation will cleanse not only the field of building expertise, but also the industry as a whole of corruption and unprofessionalism,” said Viktor Leshchynskyi during a conversation with the press.

The round table, initiated by the National Expert Construction Alliance of Ukraine, will be held with the participation of the Ministry of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, representatives of the relevant parliamentary committee.

The professional community believes that self-regulation is a change that must take place and be consolidated in the general deregulation of various sectors of the economy. The new government has declared this from the very beginning. Now is the time to implement it.

“Why is this needed? Any industry needs self-regulation – this has been working in the EU and the USA for a long time. What will it give us? The emergence of a self-regulatory organization based on trade unions and enterprises will provide control over the quality of service provision and compliance with the principles of competition, accreditation of “newcomers,” Viktor Leshchynsky is confident.

According to the head of the Alliance, this applies not only to expertise – in many areas it is necessary to switch to self-regulation. This will make it possible to reveal “cancerous tumors” in the economy and honest business. We are talking about the existence of organizations that provide expert opinions not according to the rules, having incomplete and poor-quality documentation, as well as “raw” projects.

Viktor Leshchynsky reminded that the responsibility of experts is primarily to those who will operate new buildings.

And these are social facilities, housing, industrial facilities. “Human life often depends on a professional opinion,” said the president of the National Expert Construction Alliance of Ukraine.

Currently, there are about 50 expert institutions in Ukraine, among which most are private, as well as municipal and state.

The expert organization plays the role of the final stage before the start of construction or before obtaining a building permit from the architectural and construction inspection.
