Who will take responsibility for the development of the construction industry? Roundtable of the National Expert Construction Alliance of Ukraine

On November 21, the Kyiv National Academic Operetta Theater hosted a roundtable discussion “Who will take responsibility for the development of the construction industry?” and a presentation of the National Expert Construction Alliance of Ukraine as an independent platform that unites industry experts to address common issues, exchange experience, and consolidate intellectual and expert potential.

Experts, representatives of industry associations, and the construction business took part in the meaningful discussion on the future of the construction industry, initiated by Viktor Leshchynsky, president of the alliance, including Pavlo Mihaylidi, head of the Public Council under the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development, Ivan Saliy, president of the All-Ukrainian Union of Building Materials Manufacturers, Oleksandr Kaban, moderator of the sectoral platform “Community Safety” of the Association of United Territorial Communities, and others.

Participants voiced current problems and issues that should become catalysts for positive changes in the construction industry of Ukraine, and throughout the event they tried to outline ways to solve these problems.

The crucial role of public associations and industry associations in defending the interests of the industry was emphasized. It was in this part of the event that the National Expert Construction Alliance of Ukraine was presented.

Alliance President Viktor Leshchynsky emphasized that the features of the Alliance are the absence of vertical management in the organization and the unification of participants around a common idea.

Executive Director Oleksandr Petushkov presented the mission of the organization and the goals it sets for itself, in particular, the introduction of innovation, information technologies, and the formation of new standards for the industry.

Another important component of the Alliance’s activities is increasing the prestige of the construction industry and shifting the emphasis to the intellectual component of the construction profession.

The event was held as part of the information and media festival “TERRITORY RESET” in partnership with the Agency for Social and Business Projects Business to Public.

Based on the results of the round table, the organizers will prepare a resolution that will be agreed upon with all participants and will serve as the basis for developing a joint action plan to improve the situation in the industry.

The artistic backdrop for the event was paintings kindly provided by the Viktor Leszczynski Charitable Foundation.

The paintings demonstrate a combination of construction themes and children’s dreams, they should remind us of one thing: everything we do, we must do for the sake of our future, this idea should accompany our every step, every action – after all, we are creating the world in which our children will live.

This also reminds us of the need to form a long-term development strategy, which the National Expert Construction Alliance, together with other industry stakeholders, will implement!
