In the center of Odessa, in June 2020 alone, a wall fell, a corner collapsed, and a house partially collapsed
And all this happened in the presence of people.
Last year, Drohobych was in two-day mourning for the dead due to the collapse of the entrance. And a month ago, a high-rise building on Poznyaki in Kyiv collapsed. They say that residents complained about the smell of gas….
“Is my home safe?” is a question that almost every citizen asks himself, but there is no sure answer.
We are talking about both outdated housing, and out of 1 billion square meters, 70-80% of it, and 7.5% are generally uninhabitable. And also about relatively new, but not inspected, without proper conclusions on the condition and safety.
Let me remind you: the privatization of apartment buildings in the 90s took place “in a hurry”, people became owners, but most of the high-rise buildings did not even receive technical passports. Years pass and structures and communications wear out.
Are all service organizations and condominiums concerned with building safety issues today? A rhetorical question.
Few people know that the average age of a residential building in Ukraine is 46 years.
Someone will say to me: look how many new buildings, new homes have been growing like mushrooms since the beginning of the 2000s! But according to statistics, only 2-3% of such new ones are.
I would like to note that in Ukraine, multi-story residential buildings have always been built and are being built constructively and reliably, but the Achilles’ heel is the problem of their maintenance. The older the building, the more carefully it needs to be inspected and individual solutions for strengthening and safety must be found.
As a representative of a large cohort of construction experts (and the National Expert Construction Alliance of Ukraine involves two thousand first-class specialists), I want to appeal to responsible co-owners and service organizations, to ordinary citizens: do not waste time, do not take risks, contact professional experts who will audit your high-rise building or private house.
I am sure that the real state of affairs will immediately show what to do so that your house does not crack, collapse, or fly into the air…
The Win Experts Group of Companies has a powerful team of judicial construction experts, construction experts, auditors, lawyers, and uses specialized equipment and laboratories to provide qualified services to resolve any technical and economic disputes in the construction industry.
Disputed issues during construction, reconstruction, or major repairs that arise between customers, contractors, designers, and architects are considered by judicial construction experts.
Together with experts accredited by the Ministry of Regional Development, they determine violations of the technical and economic state of construction, resolve disputes, and act as arbitrators in pre-trial settlement of disputes.
I would like to note that, as with the practical implementation of work during the reconstruction of buildings, so with an audit, for an expert opinion, you should contact verified and rating organizations.
Unfortunately, as in other areas, there are “grays” in construction expertise – they sign projects that their predecessors returned for revision, but do not care about safety.
It is not easy to break out of the Soviet past into European realities. And this applies to infrastructure as well. However, I would like to note that in European countries, expertise has much more rights and responsibilities than it does in Ukraine today. This applies to both housing and high-risk facilities.
