During the conference call, President Zelensky announced a new loan program for road repair. For repairs and construction of roads of local importance, regional state administrations will have the opportunity to attract additional financing under local guarantees.
The mechanism for attracting these funds was developed in a joint project of the Office of the President, the government and Ukravtodor, and the relevant draft laws to attract additional funding for the renovation of local roads have already been registered in the Verkhovna Rada.
In turn, the participants of the meeting reported that on average, the regions have used 30% of the allocated appropriations since the beginning of the year for the renovation of local roads. However, in some regions this figure does not exceed 5-10% due to the unavailability of design and estimate documentation for repair facilities planned for 2020.
