On May 12, a round table “Technology of Restoration Work – Current Issues and Importance in Architectural Restoration” was held, which was jointly organized and held by the National Expert Construction Alliance of Ukraine and the Alliance of Restorers of Historical Buildings of Ukraine.

Before the start of the round table, the participants were greeted by the President of the National Expert Construction Alliance of Ukraine, Viktor Leshchynsky.

He emphasized the importance of the event’s theme in the context of the implementation of the “Great Restoration” program, within which it is planned to restore about 150 cultural monuments in all regions of Ukraine within three years.

The main aspect of the successful implementation of this program is the availability of the necessary knowledge of the restoration technology among the specialists who will carry out the restoration work.

The deputy director of the “Restorers of Old Kyiv” company Olga Spivak, design engineer, specialist in the development of restoration technologies Olga Tikhonova, director of the restoration and technology center, design engineer, specialist in the development of restoration technologies Alisa Sviatina, restorer Maria Borysenko, and co-founder of the art and restoration workshop “GurinBrothers” Danylo Gurin spoke about the intricacies of the restorer’s profession and answered the audience’s questions.

We considered a number of important topics related to the composition and significance of the technology for performing restoration work, the theory of its application in design documentation, the issues of compliance of modern and historical materials. The experts also talked about how the customer can find the right specialist, about licensing specialists and ways to overcome the shortage of personnel in the field of restoration work.

The meeting was very informative, many questions came from the audience, for which we are grateful, because now we are even more convinced that this topic is interesting and needs to be developed further in our next events.

We are grateful for the cooperation of the Alliance of Restorers of Historical Buildings of Ukraine and are confident that in the future this cooperation will only gain momentum!

Let’s restore Ukraine together!
