UNIAN held a press briefing with the participation of construction expert and president of the National Expert Construction Alliance of Ukraine, Viktor Leshchynsky, on the topic “Will local elections help push the construction industry out of a deep pit?”
Viktor Leshchynskyi analyzed the current situation in construction and noted how elections, in particular, to local government bodies, affect the construction sector.
In addition, during the briefing, the President of the National Expert Construction Alliance of Ukraine, Viktor Leshchynsky, provided answers to relevant questions received from representatives of the public, journalists, and experts.
“Unfortunately, the construction sector has not been of interest to politicians for a long time. Basically, everyone hears populist slogans from them, for example, “large-scale construction”, “the largest construction”, etc. In fact, as for the public sector, this year a lot of funds were withdrawn from state programs, directing them to repair work in the road industry. In most cases, new construction is not carried out in our country at all,” said NEBAU President Viktor Leshchynsky.
In addition, Viktor Leshchynsky drew attention to the problems of the state of the housing stock of Ukraine: “Renovation of the outdated housing stock can only be done by politicians who have already been elected, and they understand that these are revolutionary forms of administration.
First of all, it is necessary to implement pilot renovation projects in different regions of the country in order to “roll out” the entire mechanism on them,” the president of NEBAU emphasized.
Summing up, NEBAU President Viktor Leshchynsky emphasized: “We need to immediately solve the problem with urban planning documentation and spatial planning, at least at the regional levels.
Deputies should initiate work in this direction at all levels, invite professional experts to their work. They should also enlist the support of the government and the President of Ukraine.”
