We returned from Germany from a business trip to EuroShop 2026 (Messe Düsseldorf, Düsseldorf) – one of the largest international exhibitions, which brings together solutions at the intersection of space design, engineering, energy efficiency and security

For the National Union of Design Affairs, this trip was important from a practical point of view: we saw how modern “design-to-operate” standards are being formed in Europe and the USA — when a facility is designed not only for delivery, but immediately for operation, service, and future modernization.

What was most valuable for the Ukrainian design industry?

At EuroShop, three main directions are clearly visible, which should become the norm for Ukraine:

  • Innovations – modular systems, materials and solutions that shorten implementation times and reduce life cycle cost (TCO).
  • Safety – planning of people flows, navigation, lighting as a security tool, access control, modern monitoring technologies.
  • Efficiency – energy management, transparent accounting and monitoring of consumption, integration with BMS/EMS, load optimization.

We would like to emphasize that many of the solutions at the exhibition are ready-made practical tools that can be adapted to Ukrainian projects without long “theoretical” cycles.

How can this help rebuild Ukraine?

We see several application areas that are worth scaling:

  1. Rapid restoration of commercial and service infrastructure (shops, pharmacies, service centers) through modularity and typical nodes.
  2. Energy-efficient “smart” objects as a standard for new and renovated buildings.
  3. Managed operation and safety: sensors, monitoring, risk analytics, transparent operational reporting.
  4. Technology transfer and standardization: launch of pilots in Ukraine with subsequent replication.

The most important thing is meetings and partnerships

During EuroShop, we held a series of meetings with participating European and American companies. This laid the groundwork for:

  • selection of technologies and materials for pilot projects in Ukraine
  • cooperation in the format of consortia for donor programs
  • exchange of expertise, technical sessions and team training
  • development of supply chains and production cooperations

If you represent a company/community/donor program and are looking for practical solutions for recovery projects, write to us.

Open to cooperation and partnerships.
