Despite the reduction of the State Fund for Regional Development (SFRD) from UAH 7.5 billion to UAH 4.9 billion, the implementation of large construction projects in 2020 should take place
In May, most of the work is underway. This was announced by the Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, Oleksiy Chernyshov, during a briefing.
Thus, on May 6, a meeting of the commission was held regarding the evaluation and selection of investment programs that can be implemented at the expense of DFRD funds.
“According to the results of the commission, amendments were recommended to the Cabinet of Ministers’ order of February 26, within the framework of allocations for regions after the reduction of the State Regional Development Fund from UAH 7.5 billion to UAH 4.9 billion. Despite the reduction of the State Regional Development Fund, the implementation of large construction projects in 2020 should take place,” Chernyshov assured.
He noted that as of May, most of the work is underway, but there are some delays, the causes of which are being worked out on the ground and with the heads of regional state administrations.
“We also plan to launch the work of professional mobile groups that will check the progress of work, deadlines, and volumes,” the minister added.
As a reminder, the Ministry of Regional Development received 4.9 billion hryvnias in the emergency budget to finance the State Fund for Regional Development, which will allow the commissioning of facilities where construction has already begun.
Earlier, the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development stated that the “Great Construction” cannot be put on hold, as this will slow down regional development.
